THE PAMELA EINARSEN PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE
My portrait sessions are easy and fun. Because everyone looks better when they're relaxed and having fun.
Depending on the length of the session, we will spend some time at your home getting pictures in familiar surroundings - no strange cold studios. Kids shine when they show off their rooms, favorite toys, or an instrument. I get pictures that show the way you were now, with each other and with a place you love. Because good portraits are not just about how you look but about your life.
Then we may go to a local beach or playground or simply stroll though town and explore.
From the several hundred images that I capture, I will edit down to the best 100 or so from which you can create an heirloom photo book or a wall of pictures to enjoy every day.
Whatever you want to chronicle, please let me know and I will create a custom session just for you.
I grew up in Michigan where life revolves around family and stories. Time with my grandparents was special and my sister and I would spend a week each summer with my grandmother at Klinger Lake. We would go berry picking, swim for hours in the lake, find clams, smell the mint around her house and listen to the gulls. So many great memories. Wish I had more pictures!
Then we moved out West and I came to appreciate the diversity and creativity that the West Coast had to offer. I went to college in Oregon and went on to become an oncology nurse for 10 years, both in Portland and San Francisco. A nurse helps her patients feel comfortable in an uncomfortable medical situation. As a photographer, I do the same for my clients. Helping people feel at ease is the best way to capture authentic, meaningful images.
After the SF earthquake of 1989, a friend of mine, Paul, who I had known for 13 years, asked me to marry him and I said yes! Paul is a very talented fine art and landscape photographer who also helps people organize and curate their photos. We have two great boys who are now in their 20s and want to be movie makers. So images are US!
I believe that being together is a gift and that creating beautiful images of your family, for me, is an honor. As a lifestyle photographer, my goal is to capture all of you together in an interesting group shot, but also to capture some awesome moments of the cousins playing, grandma and grandpa laughing, each family, and then whatever magic happens in between! The serendipity of life creates moments that you will cherish for a lifetime.
